JARRETT GUITARS LLC APPOINTS NEW LEAD TECH

Jarrett Guitars LLC is delighted to announce the appointment of Robert "Cue" Gerhards as lead tech for their US built Platinum Series hand carved line of custom guitars.

Gerhards was an integral part of the Brian Moore Custom Shop for over 13 years, and brings a wealth of finishing, woodworking and guitar building talents to the company. His magnificent finish work has been seen on many high end boutique instruments from such noted builders as Stuart Spector, Joe Veillette, Jeff Babicz and Harvey Citron. His responsibilities will include overseeing the final assembly of such Jarrett models as the Premier Guitar magazine award winning Zaffiro, as well as the Forza, Colibri, Ibiza, and Monserrat.

Jarrett Guitars Managing Partner Jack Camarda said, "The addition of Cue Gerhards to our building staff gives us a greater dimension of expertise in the design and construction of our custom instruments. He's not only a highly skilled builder but an accomplished player as well, and can immediately relate to any technical challenge. Needless to say we are thrilled to get a guy of Cue's talents and energy."

Cue will continue to operate Gerhards Guitarworks, a custom repair shop he founded in 2007 in addition to his duties with Jarrett. Cue@gerhardsguitarworks.com.

Les Paul 1915-2009

Jarrett Guitars joins the guitar universe in celebrating the life of the legendary Les Paul, whose contribution to popular music in general and the guitar in particular is incalculable. His weekly appearance at The Iridium jazz club in NYC gave fans the opportunity to hear this musical genius perform, as well as to meet the man and get his autograph. However, fans were never asked to join him backstage, let alone allowed to hold his priceless vintage instrument. One of a chosen few granted a private audience was Jarrett Guitars' consultant Thomas Lofgren, who is pictured here with Les Paul's personal vintage Les Paul, bassist Nikki Parrott, and of course, on the couch with the man himself.

Shelby Cobra 40th Anniversary Commemorative Guitar Series

Posted on June 22nd, 2009 by Jack and tagged , , , .

Automotive cognoscenti know the name Carroll Shelby. His legendary career as a race car driver, designer and builder has made him the undisputed, "Father of the American muscle car," and nearly 50 years later, the Cobra continues to be manufactured and sold to delighted customers all over the world. In 2002, Jarrett Guitars was fortunate enough to license Mr. Shelby's name and intellectual property to create a very limited line of 40th anniversary commemorative guitars, and our design cues would later influence similar models by Gibson, Fender and Duesenberg. If imitation is truly the sincerest form of flattery, we say thanks, fellas.
